Restaurants
(When in need reference the Infatuation app- it is my go-to trusted guide!)
Nicer to Sit Down:
Refuge de Fondues- all fondue everything, and wine served in glass baby bottles
Le Chateaubriand- prix fixe menu but not too steep, unbelievable flavors and the wine pairing is worth it
Frenchie (and Frenchi Bar a Vins)- a classic Parisian foodie hit list spot, with hard to snag reservations, but head to the Bar a Vins across the street which is first-come first-serve
L’Osteria dell Anima- fresh pasta made in restaurant that is to die for, the restaurant is probably as wide as your wingspan and such an absolute gem
Clownbar- delicious small plates of French food, great wine and more
Vantre- amazing food, great wine, a bit more casual, check out the gnocchi
Casual or Grab and Go:
L’ As du Falafel- worth the wait, if you love falafel do not miss
Frenchie To Go- as related to Frenchie above, this is the spot to go and grab a sandwich to-go
Chezaline- classic baguette sandwiches to-go that are quintessential Paris and so delicious
Breakfast or Brunch:
Holy Belly- yummiest Aussie breakfast in a Parisian setting
Season Paris- your go-to health option for acai bowls, green things and more
Du Pain et Des Idees- MAJOR pastry move, just get them all
Angelina’s- there are a few locations and the hot chocolate is extravagance at its best
La Duree- go get your macaroons! salted caramel and rose are a couple of my favorites
Mokonuts Bakery- famous for their cookies
Cafe’s & Sweets
Activities
Neighborhoods:
Saint-Germain de Pres-
visit Les Deux Magots and neighboring bars where Hemingway and other greats frequented during Paris’ renaissance
Le Marais-
great shopping
visit Merci- the cutest curated store with clothes, home goods, a cafe inside, and an iconic little, red car in the courtyard out front
9th arr.
Galeries Lafayette- most beautiful department store, go inside and just look up
Palais Garnier- stunning opera house nearby, definitely go inside if you have the opportunity
Sites:
Eiffel Tower (duh)- but grab sandwiches, wine, and a blanket and sit below it for a perfect picnic (in my opinion going up to the top is overrated here)
Sainte-Chappelle- my favorite church in Paris, walking inside the stained glass windows will literally make your jaw drop
Centre Pompidou- modern art museum
Musee de L’Orangerie- Monet’s waterlilies in a beautiful white room, really easy and quick museum that is stunning
Fondation Louis Vuitton
Notre Dame (& walk over to nearby Shakespeare & Co. Bookstore)
Sacre Coeur and Montmarte- beautiful views of the city from up on the hill, a ton of street performers near the church, and a ton of artists in Montmarte that are painting Parisian street scenes and caricatures of passer-by’s
Going Out:
Andy Wahloo- great cocktails and, as expected, Andy Warhol-themed, a super fun spot
Day Trips from the City:
Versailles Palace
